Done in https://github.com/badbundle/vault-app/pull/649 (merged as a8117a96).
The icon: the frame and wheel are each one solid colour, and the default background is plain white. The shapes and two tones are unchanged:
- Default: a black frame (10% white) and a blue wheel (
#1E8CFF), on white. - Dark: a silver frame and the same blue wheel, on a transparent background.
- Tinted: a white frame and a 70% grey wheel.
In the app: the locked-item and encrypted-item doors and the app lock screen are flat too. The lock, unlock and decrypt animations and the red wrong-password state still work.
Code:
VaultAppIconPaletteis down to three colours.Metaland its gradients are gone, andVaultWheelViewwas replaced by a singleVaultWheelShape.- The PNGs were regenerated with
make app-icon.
Tests:
- All 101 snapshots showing the icon or door were re-recorded and checked by eye.
- The Home Screen was checked in Default, Dark and Tinted.
Note: iOS 27 adds its own glass shadow and glow to icons on the Home Screen, even though the PNGs are flat. Removing that would need a layered Icon Composer icon.
Before and after comparisons are in ~/Library/Caches/vault-sprint2/icon/VAULT-69/ on the Mac Studio.
