Auto backup: clearer UI and more detailed running state

0
All issues

Description

The auto backup UI should be clearer that auto backup is actually being enabled/set up.

While an auto backup is running, the UI is not very detailed at the moment. It should show more about what's happening.

Wanted

  • Rework the auto backup UI so it's obvious when it's enabled and what it's configured to do.
  • A more detailed in-progress state while a backup is running.

Fixed in https://github.com/badbundle/vault-app/pull/602 (merged as ffbba75a).

  • Status header: the Auto-Backup screen opens with a large one: "Auto-Backup Is Off", "Choose a Folder", "Auto-Backup Is On" with the last backup, "Backing Up", or "Last Backup Failed" with the reason.
  • Settings section: shows where backups are saved and how long they're kept, with a footer saying when backups run and when old ones are deleted.
  • While a backup runs: a progress card shows the phase, the percentage, "Step N of 4" with a checklist of the steps, whether it started automatically or from Back Up Now and when, and the destination folder.
  • Backups page: the Auto-Backup row now reads On or Off.
  • Deliberate omission: no item count is shown while backing up, since it would reveal items hidden behind a search passphrase.
